The Bread Company

Started by a Swiss family, this Bistro & Bakery has grown to be a favorite spot for many in Urbana, IL. The Bread Company is more of a New American restaurant, with as far as I can tell both Swiss and mild French influence. There is so much to love about Bread Co., but I'll try to be pointed my admiration. When you first walk into the bistro, you are welcomed by the glow of table top candles, an intimate layout with stylish table settings, and of course the sweet smell of freshly baked bread.

Bread Co. has an extensive amount of offerings from their breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner menus. Each is as good as the next, but I'm a fan of their dinner menu. In part because the ambiance of Bistro changes from the hustle and bustle of day time; moreover, I love to sit by their fireplace in the evenings. Lit up by candles and yellow overhead lights, the food is just as amazing as the restaurant's aura. Here are some shots from my last Bread Co. adventure:

Some of my personal favorites from Bread Co. include: Goat Cheese Croquettes with honey, the Pesto Penne, Margarita Pizza, Raclette served with Rosemary Potatoes, and the Dessert Fondue (all chocolate lovers  have to try this dessert!!) with apples, strawberries, and croissants.

If you have never been to The Bread Company, be sure to check it out sometime soon at 706 S Goodwin Ave, Urbana, IL. I promise you will not regret it! There are so many dishes to try and love at Bread Co., the service is friendly as well as fast, and it is a wonderful quaint spot for meaningful conversation over excellent food.
