Ambition. Passion. Hunger. For the quite some time I have been struggling with exactly what I want to do with my blog, and how my vision of it's future fits into my overall career aspirations. Deep into its second year, Emi Eats has become much more to me than an avenue for sharing my food adventures with the world. Slowly it is becoming a platform to share my travel and dining experiences. It has become a way to share my lifestyle (the good and the bad) with readers, mentors, and inspiring people.
In light of the changes I am hoping to make, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous. Nervous that this directional shift could be unsuccessful or disengaging. This change is a bit scary but also very exciting! I feel a second wind coming to Emi Eats, and I hope you are as excited as I am to join in the journey. But to know where you are headed, I think it is important to survey where you have been as well as where you currently stand.
So, where have I been lately? As some of you know, I work as a technology consultant during the week, traveling Monday – Thursday to one coast or the other. This manner of living, while interesting, is also pretty exhausting. I enjoy the change of pace, exploring new cities, and of course technology. But recently I have found it hard to find time to dedicate to Emi Eats and a lack of drive when I would sit down in front of my computer to talk about latest and greatest that I’d eaten. I felt a bit pigeon-holed into only talking about my culinary excursions from wherever my current project had taken me.
After confronting my fear of 'expansion', I've decided I'd like to share more about myself and my life with all of you. Food is still my passion and I fully intend to keep it at the core of this blog; however, I want to invite you into more of who I am as a person. Into my ambition to effect change, passion to foster connection, and hunger for life.
What does this mean for Emi Eats?? It means more posts, a variety of content, and an invitation for you connect with me help grow a community of enthusiastic and diverse people. Thank you to all who have been supporting me over the past couple of years and welcome to any new readers! I can’t wait to see what comes beyond the horizon.
